April 5 2012-1

A quick update:
Tyler will be attending Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston next Fall. He will be studying bio-mechanical engineering.
Today was the court date, concluding the criminal portion of our legal journey. The judgement and result were fair and appropriate. Another step forward.

November 25-1 1120

Yesterday was a great day. Thanksgiving has a whole new meaning for all of us. We had Roger and Nic M. over, and had a venison roast, and a fried turkey in addition to the traditional holiday fare. We all sat and laughed, happily taking in the good fortune that is part of most of our lives. I would sit, watching the boys kidding around, and playing video games, feeling waves of contentment wash over me like a warm ocean tide. As difficult as this year has been, and with much work still remaining, we will manage with great style because we have each other.

November 20-1 0800

As we prepare for the upcoming holiday, I would be remiss in my acknowledgment of all I'm grateful for, if I forget those who meant so much to us during the hardest times of our ordeal. Thank you to all who followed, and continue to follow Tyler's courageous journey back from the edge (hey, what a great title for the book). Without all your prayers and support, I don't know what would have happened. Josh will be home Tuesday night, and then our home will be complete, let the celebration of thanks continue, as gratitude is something we should be cognizant of every day. Ty continues working hard in school, and will be continuing various therapies through our school district. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, hug your children, honor your parents, value your friends, and give your loving pets a treat.

A little doggy love goes a long way.

Tyler's tribute to the Lakota nation. The 4 spiritual direction colors with Tyler's spirit animal's paw (the bear) symbolically supporting him, with the Lakota crossed peace pipes inset.

We put this sign across from the accident site at the entrance of Salmon Brook Park, for the 225th anniversary celebration for the town of Granby.

November 10-1 0750

Tyler continues to work hard at school, and the myriad of clubs which he belongs. He may on occasion be over-taxing himself, but it's difficult to see his drive to normalcy and attempt to restrain him. He is looking at colleges, and is interested in the Boston and Worcester areas and possibly Hobart (NY state). Ty's formal therapies have ended at the hospital, and will be continued through our town school services. As far as he has travelled, there is still more to go. We finally got our power back 9 days after the early season Nor'easter. We survived with no trouble, and actually had fun. Tyler's tattoo came out great, and I'll have pictures of this and more as soon as I can find the cable attachment for our camera. We are anxiously awaiting Thanksgiving (my favorite holiday), especially having my 2 guys under the same roof, at home together.
Also, if anyone knows a publisher (for Tyler's story), please contact me.

October 26-1 0635

Update:
Tyler is doing well in school, and we've started looking at colleges (still a long way to go though). Tomorrow Ty is going to get a tattoo commemorating the Lakota Nation. It will be a bear paw (his spirit animal), surrounded by the colors of the healing medicine wheel, with crossed peace pipes (symbol of the Lakotas) inset on the paw. The tattoo will be over his left shoulder as if it were supporting, and urging him forward.
Josh had his physical waiver for his scholarship approved and finalized. Full 4 year ride to Rensselaer Polytech. Wahoo lieutenant Pollock.
