What a great event. The parade was terrific with music, floats, and town organizations represented. After the parade the park was the center of tremendous activity. There were many food booths, organizations, business represented, and carnival rides. The festivities will continue into the evening culminating in a fireworks display at 1900. We are currently home for a rest, and for Tyler to figure out his plans for later. So many people came up to us with hugs, handshakes, and well wishes. This town is truly a special place to live.
But friendship is precious, not only in the shade, but in the sunshine of life, and thanks to a benevolent arrangement the greater part of life is sunshine.

Happy 225th birthday Granby, CT. After a nice breakfast at Dave's restaurant (Tyler paid, Holy crap), we went to the hardware store to get some sign making materials. Today our town is having a huge celebration (in the rain). Ty and I made a sign thanking the Town of Granby for all their support and placed it at the entrance to Salmon Brook Park, across from the location the accident occurred. Later we plan on swimming to the parade, then attending some of the festivities. This afternoon there's a chance Tyler and friends may go to the Big E. I just want to watch the UConn football game on TV.
I can express no kinder sign of loveThan this kind kiss. O Lord, that lends me life,Lend me a heart replete with thankfulness! For thou hast given me in this beauteous faceA world of earthly blessings to my soul,If sympathy of love unite our thoughts.

After a nice dinner at New England Pizza, Linda dropped Ty off at home. The 2 of us caught up on the days activities, and discussed plans for this weekend (Granby's 225 Birthday Celebration, and the Big E). Today is school, a short rest, Drama Club this evening, and then G-d knows what. I long since abandoned trying to understand Tyler's social calendar.

Tyler, Nic and I went for a ride earlier, and got some sushi for lunch. The boys hung out at Nic's this afternoon, and Tyler is going with his Mom for dinner. Ty has his drivers permit, and seeing all his contemporaries drive, makes him anxious to resume driver's training. However aware of the realities he may be, he is, once again, in a rush to resume his life. We, on the other hand, are insisting on moderation, appropriate timing, and baby steps. Tyler has had such patience so far, it's understandable that he would feel restless. All things in their time.

Tyler had a good day in school, came home about 12:30, and we both took a little rest before heading over to Grammy and Marty's for dinner. Once again Grammy outdid herself. Brisket, chicken, roasted potatoes, desert, etc, etc... Tyler and I got a great care package to take home. Today, Ty and I have off from school, and plan on doing a bit of shopping and exercise at the "Y". I wasn't planning on going to synagogue, I figure if G-d doesn't know by now how grateful I am, he's deaf.

I am most thankful to Almighty Providence for mercies received, and determined still to press the case into public notice as a token of gratitude.

Tyler's Occupational Therapy has ended, and the Speech Therapy will end next week, while the Physical Therapy is scheduled to continue for the foreseeable future. The OT and ST were discontinued not due in any way to the fact Tyler is cured, but rather, professional assistance isn't of any further necessity. He has been given exercises and tasks to practice, the rest is up to him. Therapy went well yesterday, and Ty was picked up at the hospital by Grammy and Marty, then we all met at JG's for dinner.
Tonight is Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year. I have never been more grateful to G-d for the blessings bestowed upon me than I am this year. Happy and healthy New Year to all.
(I'm not sure if this is a repeat quote, but it's very appropriate)
As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.

He works so hard at therapy, school, and trying to regain his interrupted life. I am amazed at the resiliency of the young body, mind, and wonderfully loving soul. The doctors feel Tyler's recovery will peak at some point, what that will be is yet unknown. Once again the unknown is the most unsettling and frustrating. It is reminiscent of waiting for Tyler to awaken from the coma in order to see how much of him was in there. We were fortunate with that event. We can only pray our luck holds out, and Tyler is returned whole.

The MD's appointment went well, He is reducing one of his meds and the doctor say's Tyler is proceeding well with his recovery efforts. Later, PT was tiring, but productive. His OT and Speech Therapy may be concluding. Grammy picked Tyler up from Mt. Sinai, and we met at Cumby's. Ty and I came home for dinner, then he was off to the Drama Club meeting... I went to bed.

Afterwards, he will hang around at the hospital for a bit, have lunch then begin therapy at 1:00. Grammy will pick Ty up and bring him home to Granby for dinner, and homework completion.

From the horses mouth:
Yesterday I was out with some friends after the Labyrinth, and bought some pirate ships (part of a game). After, we all went to Jen's house for video games and merriment. I then came home, ate some chili and went to bed. I had a great time.
