September 10-1 0800

Tyler was over his friend Nic's last night, and will be with his Mom throughout the weekend. He was in rare form last night before he left, prompted by a substantial caffeine blast. He and I were doing our goofy word banter, and Ty was simply cracking me up. With Josh at school and Tyler away for the weekend, the house is very quiet. I'm getting work done, yet I'm glad to have the dogs around. Their snoring is good company.

September 9-2 1800

The new class schedule went well, Tyler likes all his teachers. The afternoon Speech Therapy session was productive, and Ty feels like he's making progress. This weekend Ty will be with his Mom starting with dinner, then a sleepover at Nic's house. He loves being around his buddies.

My alarm didn't go off this morning, so I flew around the house while Tyler patiently tapped his foot by the door. Just kidding, it wasn't too bad. everyone was on time. After school, Ty will be going to his Mom's place to stay the weekend

September 8-2 1740

School and PT, including aqua therapy went well today. I dropped Tyler of at the library on the way home, and he plans on getting Chinese food for dinner (General Tsaos... of course).

September 8-1 1000

After a stop at Cumby's for coffee, Tyler was off to school. He has a whole new enthusiasm and focus regarding his education. Perhaps this is understandable considering his circumstance, it's just ironic that it took getting hit by a car to fire an appreciation for school. Having some of his favorite teachers doesn't hurt either. The neurological exam was lengthy and tiring, the results will be forthcoming.

Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire.

September 6-2 1600

School went well, with Tyler making a slight change in his schedule which enables him to have his toughest class earlier in the day, also to have class with Mr. Jarvis (one of the advisors on last years trip to the Lakota Nation, and a super person). Tomorrow Ty will be spending the day at Gaylord Hospital seeing the MD, and having some neurological testing. He says he would rather be in school.

We just went over the 95,000 page view mark for the blog. Thanks to all for your continued support.
Tyler is getting into the school routine, combined with the usual teenager lack of enthusiasm at the prospect of waking up early. So far he's been keeping up with all the work, and very happy seeing all his peeps.

September 5-3 1730

Tyler and I are making dinner. It's a calamari, clam, and vegetable sauce over angel hair pasta. We got various peppers and other veggies from the Lindeyer's, picked fresh from Holcomb Farm. The peppers included some questionably hot varieties, with which we weren't too familiar. Ty loves hot peppers and sauces, so he was tasked to try the mystery peppers. Two of them were warm to the taste, but very flavorful. The third must have been some form of Asian red hot pepper. It started Ty coughing, laughing, eyes watering and sent me running to the refrigerator for the milk. We were both hysterical at the scene and also the prospect of the milk being sour. How horrible would that have been. It wasn't and we laughed our butts off.

I am thankful for laughter, except when milk comes out of my nose.

It's an on and off weather day today. Tyler has gone for a walk with his Mom, and I'm going shopping. A relaxing day off, albeit not very exciting.

Thank you to Sue and Kelly for taking Tyler to see Wicked last night, he said it was terrific. It will be a quiet day, Ty and I are going to do some work around the house, then he has some homework to complete.

I was helping our friend Bob with a project, while Tyler did some vacuuming and kitchen cleaning. Ty is off to see Wicked, and is really psyched.

September 4-1 0730

All's well after a good sleep. We plan on doing some work around the house, then Tyler is going to see Wicked at the Bushnell with Kelly and her Mom Sue.
